January 2017 Recap

January was a crazy month and I guess I wouldn't have it any other way. To be honest, it's a different kickstart of the year compared to the past ones but I loved every minute of it because lots of things were accomplished, including launching this blog and going back to doing a bit of art.

On traveling, I got to go back to Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar and experiencing the place with friends and the boyfriend this time, it made it the experience even more superb.

In a nutshell, January was mostly all about going back to art and the photo above is an accurate picture version of my January recap. I did an art haul of sorts for my future journaling sessions and through it, I've discovered cool local businesses which would surely be of help to artists out there.

@halfpanph on Instagram provided the container for my tube paints. I loved this a lot because I can create my own palette and it enables me to bring more colors along since the portable / pocket watercolors you can buy are quite limited and expensive.

PS: one more thing about halfpanph's account on Instagram is that they share the works of other artists, novice and experts alike, who make use of their products.

@artsy.lifestyle.ph provided the waterbrush pens. They're cute and small! Along with the tin can case for my paints, these brushes can fit inside a small pouch which I can easily take along with me anywhere I go.

Noted Journal PH provided my new traveler's notebook (commonly known as their Notedori). I like how they've used Hobonichi's and Midori's templates as inspiration for their own, as well as a bunch of other layouts to choose from. It isn't too marker-friendly and watercolor-friendly though, but I can still say it's pretty good.

Oh, and see that colorful refill over there? That's created by Aireescreates. I initially wanted to get her traveler's notebook but since I recently got a sketchbook then, I ended up dropping the idea. Fortunately, I came across the exact same design (which I really loved!) as a refill which fits inside my Notedori so, needless to say, it was an immediate purchase.

This February, I'm aiming to make my journal pages look more beautiful. I'm aiming to be more consistent with this blog (gotta make that content calendar already!) and to start working on the new version of the novel I got published back in 2015. It looks like it's going to be another busy month ahead!

What's your #FebruaryGoals?
