Enjoy Discounts in Your Favorite Restaurants EVERY DAY with This Mobile App

Ramen Nagi at The Podium

I've been craving for ramen for about a month now but I kept on hesitating to eat in a ramen house because, let's face it, ramen's not exactly a cheap indulgence. The boyfriend, Marvin, witnessed this as I had countless times whined about wanting to eat in a Japanese restaurant for ramen but every single time we chance upon one, I'd opt for another restaurant instead.

Thankfully, my mom introduced me to this app which finally ended that month-long craving.

A First-timer's Memorable Moments in Leyte and Samar, Thanks to The Oriental Leyte

Thursday, August 10, 2017

There was something about The Oriental Leyte's charm that captivated and stole a first-timer's heart. Those 3 days and 2 nights we spent there (though I was the only first-timer) were enough to make me fall in love, but not enough to savor its beauty to the fullest. Majority of our Leyte & Samar trip were composed of first-time experiences and I am more than thankful for The Oriental Leyte, for making this one an extra memorable one. I'm sure anyone who will be visiting this hotel for the first time and maximizing their stay with the tours they can arrange for you will, like me, have a great story to tell.

The 4 Things That Got Me Out of My Creative Block

Tuesday, August 8, 2017

Admittedly, for the past months (and the past I don't know how long), I've been out of it. Quite ironic because I've established this blog precisely for that -- to inspire others to keep on keeping on despite thriving in the real world, despite having an 8-hour job, but here I am, withering away after spending more than a month 6 feet under the pile of work I needed done. The transition to another specialization and hopping from one province to another weren't so kind for my creative juices.

The Right Love Changed The Way I Saw Life

Sunday, August 6, 2017

I'm no expert on love. I don't have the adequate background for proper do's and don'ts, or to tell you the key indications to watch out for when you found "the one." Still, here's my two cents on love and life. Here's to this one guy who came into my life and changed a few things about how I saw it.

Needless to say it's a change I'm thankful for.

Rediscovering Manila's Beauty Through Swagman Hotel Manila

Tuesday, July 25, 2017

Somewhere along the crazy 2-year journey of writing for hotel websites, the familiar feeling of coming home to my very first "baby" ignited a sense of being welcomed back to a place of comfort. Swagman Hotel Manila holds a very special place in my heart because it marked the start of a beautiful friendship. Okay, drama aside, let me share to you some of the reasons why Swagman Hotel Manila deserves your visit at least once at some point.

Discovering Mariveles With The Oriental Bataan

Saturday, July 1, 2017

June 13-15, 2017 marked my third time at The Oriental Bataan. Though I didn't feel much of the adrenaline rush of heading off to a new destination and discovering new things, I did feel the calm of heading to a place that already feels like home. It's an amazing thing to witness this place grow. On my first visit, half of it was still under construction. On the second, most of its facilities are up and running, including the team building facilities which our team had a blast in.

Now, on the third visit, it was more about exploring nearby places guests can explore during their stay. What sets this third visit apart is the way I found solace in the place. Our three days were full of wandering through previously unknown territories but at the end of the day, there's the feeling of assurance that I have a happy place to retreat to.

I'll Always Look Forward to Staying At The Oriental Legazpi Because Of These Reasons

Monday, June 19, 2017

This year, I visited The Oriental Legazpi for the second time yet it's just as magical as my first. Ultimately, my most favorite asset of this hotel is its unparalleled view of Mayon Volcano, but there are other reasons why a stay at The Oriental Legazpi is something I'll always look forward to.

The First Step To a New Journey Is Scary, But It Will Be Worth It

Thursday, June 15, 2017

I've been absent on the blog for nearly the entire month of May and all I got to publish was the post of my 2nd quarter goals. Well, it was simply because May was all about pursuing a new path. From being DirectWithHotels' copywriter, I shifted to becoming their SEO specialist.

It was a spur of the moment decision; it wasn't thought of or planned. A mere random thought, for some reason, was voiced out and put into motion. The next thing I know, I told my boss about this crazy, random decision. "Hi, Mike! I want to be a Digital Marketing specialist instead."

So, I'm not sure if you need to hear these things right now, but if you're at that point in life where there's some sort of decision screaming at the back of your mind, you might find the answer you're looking for here.

Experiencing The Philippines Makes It More Fun

Sunday, June 11, 2017

My first official full-time job is a web copywriter for local hotels. Part of my responsibility as a hotel website's content writer is giving the guest a taste of the place just by simply reading a few lines from its website. It's not an easy task to do if you haven't been to the property, but fortunately, some of our hotel partners were kind enough to have us over for a full experience of the hotel and its surrounding places of interest.

Exploring Tsim Sha Tsui (Hong Kong) With My Canon EOS M3

Saturday, June 10, 2017

Around a month ago, we went to Hong Kong for a family trip. We didn't do much. Mainly, we just stayed in Tsim Sha Tsui and spent most of our time at Harbour City. My aunt thought there was no need to bring a camera (she said we can just use our smartphones instead) but, to me, no way. I bring my camera even in the most mundane moments so having this chance to go out of the country again, Lucielle (Canon EOS M3) must be with me. Fortunately, she's small and compact enough for easy travel but don't be deceived by its size. The Canon EOS M3 is nearly as powerful as any DSLR camera.

The Canon EOS M Series is one of the best things that ever happened to me, as a loyal Canon user. Check out our recent Hong Kong trip in photos, taken using the Canon EOS M3!

2017's First Quarter Recap

Monday, May 15, 2017

Can you believe it? 2017's already 1/4 done! I don't know about you guys but to me, it's like only a month or two has passed. The first four months of 2017 was crazy on my end so here's a post telling you guys about it.

2017's first quarter was all about exploring new things and pursuing passions. I've mentioned on a couple of past posts that a huge part of me died last year which I really don't want to happen anymore this year, hence the passion projects I had been doing. Initially, the focus of the year was learning about watercolor and journaling plus continuing my novel but eventually, I had to let go of watercoloring. Now, I've pretty much narrowed things down to journaling, blogging, pursuing my life mission with Paw Movement, and hopefully still be able to squeeze in my novel.

A History of Blogging and The Importance of Perseverance

Monday, April 17, 2017

If I could go back to 2010, I'd tell myself a few things. Along with it are a bunch of inserts about the history of my blogs. Yes, blogs.

Our HelpMASDogs Visit at the Mandaluyong Animal Shelter (for Paw Movement)

Friday, April 14, 2017

Just a few clarification of terms before we get to the actual narrating. HelpMASDogs (Help Mandaluyong Animal Shelter Dogs) refers to the group of volunteers (spearheaded by Ms. Li) who help the dogs and the shelter while MAS refers to the actual location: Mandaluyong Animal Shelter. It seems to be a common misconception so let me clarify that before we proceed. :)

I wrote an article for HelpMASDogs for wheninmanila.com late last year and I was so glad to know that the small act got them more volunteers and donations. The article was posted around September 2016, if I'm not mistaken, and fast forward to March 2017, I decided to help out further.

Let me introduce to you a new project, Paw Movement! (No official logo yet)

March 2017 Recap

Wednesday, April 12, 2017

I am once again nearly two weeks late in posting my previous month's recap but anyway, it's better late than never, I guess...?

March had been a crazy whirlwind of so many things in nearly all aspects of my life. There were quite a lot of downs this month but things ended up falling back in place nonetheless. Demotivation hit me hard for weeks but just as March slowly came to an end, some spark of inspiration happened hence the rebranding and relaunching of this blog. Funny, 'cause here I am, wanting to be that spark of inspiration for young creatives to keep on keeping on, but here I go yapping about demotivation. Well, I guess that's the reality of it - there are days when the dark side would win but what's important is that, after spending a few dark days, we get back up on track.

What Branding Lessons Back in College Taught Me (Plus Reintroducing This Blog!)

Thursday, April 6, 2017

As an advertising graduate, one of the key lessons that was reiterated throughout my 4 years of college is how branding is the core of everything. Without a proper branding, everything will just go haywire.

From simple classroom reports to big-time thesis defenses, all the campaigns we proposed started with a brand core which basically speaks about who they are as a brand. Under it comes all sorts of other technical things like who they are talking to and what message they want to relay.

A Self Reminder That It's Important to Pause Once in A While

Friday, March 24, 2017

These are the moments I have to be away from any form of online presence and be on my personal journal instead, but when I started with this blog, I promised myself I'd leave a little bit of me in it. Sure, you guys get to see some stuff about my writing, my journaling, and my traveling, but I only have but a small fraction of my soul in those posts.

Now, in this little time off, I'm going to be a tad bit more personal.

Preferring to do things on my own isn't something new to me and to anyone who really knows me. I take solace in solitude more than a couple of times and it's nice to do things alone once in a while. It is in moments of solitude that I realized the things that matter to me.

The Oriental Luxury Suites: A Cool New Place in Tagaytay

Monday, March 20, 2017

Through my full-time work as a web copywriter for hotels and resorts, I get to go to new places and meet new people. Right now, I'm a few months away from celebrating my 2nd year in the company but ever since I got in, I've already had lots of precious experiences that made me grow in the job. One of it is handling The Oriental Hotels and Resorts. To put it simply, let's just say I'm always excited to work and write for them.

February 2017 Recap

Wednesday, March 15, 2017

January was a "Big Bang" of sorts for me. Mostly, it's a lot about the whole "new year, new me" type of thing but instead of making ridiculous goals about the betterment of my life, I focused on the arts. I explored notebooks and journals, hoarded watercolor and brushes, and took the liberty of just buying things on the spot.

Forgotten Dreams and Getting Back On Track

Monday, February 27, 2017

(I wanna start this post by giving credit to Czari Dycaico who did this beautiful cover)

I'm about to close the month of February with this long overdue blog post about my novelette which got digitally published back in 2015. It's already 2017 and it's still itching to be out there on print which, at some point this year, I'm hoping to accomplish. Right now, I'm rereading the old published version and checking out which parts to keep, which ones to improve on, and which ones to completely exclude. Not to mention, this needs to have a new title now that another novel has been published, called "The Girl Between Two Worlds."

Dreamcatcher Workshop by KimCreates at Monte Cafe

Sunday, February 12, 2017

Other than learning how to make dreamcatchers, this workshop gave way to discover a nice coffee shop in Antipolo City called Monte Cafe. I'll get to that later. For now, let's talk about the workshop by Krizzia Sapinit a.k.a. Kimcreates!

January 2017 Recap

Saturday, February 4, 2017

January was a crazy month and I guess I wouldn't have it any other way. To be honest, it's a different kickstart of the year compared to the past ones but I loved every minute of it because lots of things were accomplished, including launching this blog and going back to doing a bit of art.

A Message From the Writer: Volume 1

Thursday, January 26, 2017

Back in high school, I loved creating stories. I think the first one I've ever written was this piece about a new girl in school who was always bullied and the typical delinquent eventually fell in love with her and protected her. Cliche, huh? At the time, I was very much proud of it.

Eventually, I ventured to more complicated plots like a fallen demon prince who turned into a viscous monster and wandered into a human village where he met a little boy. On that piece, I played around with the characters a lot. They were fun.
Then again, it wasn't always like that. After about a year of enjoying making stories, the writer in me slowly died and turned to nothing. New hobbies were soon ventured on (acting, photography, music) which made me forget that I once loved sharing my imagination through written words.
Fast forward to my second year of college, I had a Creative Writing class. Here, we were taught about the basics of writing poems, short stories, and other creative ways to use write. I remember not paying much attention to the lessons because, then, it was just another subject I had to pass; nothing more, nothing less. I didn't have to take it to heart because they just seemed to be random information I simply have to memorize for exams.

Journal and Art: Volume 1

Monday, January 23, 2017

Part of my #PauPursuesPassion journey this 2017 is rekindling my old love for journaling and art. Back in high school, I doodled on my planner a lot. I used to write song lyrics using markers and jot down a bunch of memorable quotes that made me life or made some impact on me. My friends often told me I had so much patience for it, back then when it wasn't much of a thing just yet. Unfortunately, reality got in the way for so many years; both my college years and first working year. I got eaten up by harsh realities of life which made me forget about the passions that used to make up who I am.

Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar Gave Me A Chance to Time Travel

Sunday, January 22, 2017

Well, I really hope time-traveling is possible but because it isn't (for now), at least Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar gave me the chance to. It took me to a time long gone; our country when it was still at its finest years, when its architectural grandeur dotted almost every street.

Because of this, Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar is a one of a kind resort in the Philippines. You won't find anything like it here! So now, let me take you on a mini trip through some photos and a few stories to tell.

This is Why I Loved Our Team-building at The Oriental Bataan (Photos and Tips Inside!)

Sunday, January 15, 2017
Team building at The Oriental Bataan

2016 was a challenging year for my team at work. We've had lots of ups and downs, we've reached the brink of breakdowns more than a couple of times, but we rose above it all to continue doing what we do. We ended the year with a fun team-building out-of-town trip and we had it at The Oriental Bataan. I'm sure the entire trip was full of great moments not only because of the people, but because of the place as well!

My Art Journey Tools for 2017

Saturday, January 14, 2017

This 2017, aside for writing for myself again, I've also rekindled an old love for documenting memorable things. I'll be making this up as I go along but for now, I'll give a short run-down of the items on the photo.

I've always aspired to be a visually artistic person but unfortunately, it never loved me back. Perhaps I should learn a new skill this year but anyway, with the limits of simply writing down words, I'll be enhancing my journal with photos and a bunch of other stuff that may remind me of special moments.

With that, I have these gears!

An Introduction To This Writer Blog

Towards the end of 2016, a writer almost died.

Don't worry, she's still alive and well. Physically, at least. You see, the near death experience of 2016 was not of her body. It was of her mind; her passion to write, her calling for storytelling, and her true love for the written word, all of them came crashing down.

That girl is me.

And this is where I get back up.
